more on leadership

Went to a Vermont Symphony Orchestra Concert last Sunday at Trapps (7/5/09)

The marketing person introduced the concert and said: “Even though this is the ninth performance of this program…[starting to get worried, aren’t you] it will still be great!” Oops. She might have said: “They’ve got it really great now!” But she actually meant the first thing, because the orchestra was, while precise, boring. Argh. This orchestra under their Associate, who they never pay any attention to, and who is not a leader, just plays boring pops without passion. As such they are not leading and will eventually become irrelevant.

Pains me to write it. I’ve got to write to Alan about it.
